The two BMW athletes, professional freeriders and adventurers Matthias Haunholder and Matthias Mayr, make their way in the footsteps of the first ever people to ski on prominent mountains in the Alps. What these pioneers accomplished is breathtaking, especially if you consider the equipment they had available to them at that time. The athletes attempt to repeat some of these extremely exposed runs – using state-of-the-art camera technology but with the mountain climbing equipment of the day.

In ‘Shades of Winter CONNECTS’ Sandra Lahnsteiner shows what she continuously aims for: connecting to people and environments. Her main means: sports in all its facets. Without knowing each other, pro mountain biker Hannah Barnes from Scotland and Austrian freeskier Sandra Lahnsteiner set off to a trip to Iceland together. Their plan is to explore the Troll Peninsula while doing both their sports: freeskiing and mountain biking. By putting on the others’ shoes, the athletes show unseen vulnerability when things turn messy and stressful outside their comfort zone.

CROSSROADS follows Janina Kuzma (NZL) and Sandra Lahnsteiner (AUT) on their road trip through British Columbia, Canada. Between Golden and Kaslo, the girls get behind the steering wheel and amongst the machines. In addition to the rising sun, they could look forward to endless snowfall with very fine powder snow. Exhausted to the very limit, they finally returned to the mountains back home.
